Navigate to Inventory → Unused Return or go to /inventory/unused-return. This page shows only Material Issues with type “Unused Return”.

Create an Unused Return
3Return Header
Click + New Unused Return which opens /inventory/issues/new?type=UNUSED_RETURN with the issue type pre-selected.

4Return Items
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Part Number | Typeahead search for the returned part. |
| Quantity | Number of surplus units. |
| Serial Number | Serial tracking (optional). |
| Batch Number | Batch reference (optional). |
| Return Reason | Why the parts are surplus (e.g. “over-drawn”, “job cancelled”, “wrong part issued”). |
| Unit Cost | Cost for value tracking (optional). |
The Return Reason field is especially important for unused returns — it documents why surplus parts exist, helping improve future demand estimation and reducing waste.

Only Opened returns can be edited or cancelled. Returns are visible in the stock movement history once completed.
