Report aircraft defects (snags), classify severity, link to flight logs or MEL items, track corrective actions, and manage AOG-priority items.

1 Open the Snags List

Navigate to MEL/Snag → Snags. The list at /mel-snag/snags shows all snag reports with aircraft, ATA chapter, classification, title, status, and an AOG badge for aircraft-on-ground items.

Click any row to open the snag detail. Click + New Snag to log a new defect.

2 Filter & Search

Use the Aircraft, Classification (Major, Minor, Observation), and Status filters. Toggle AOG Only to show only aircraft-on-ground snags that need immediate attention.

3 Open the New Snag Form

Click + New Snag or navigate to /mel-snag/snags/new.

4 Fill Snag Details

New snag form with aircraft, classification, AOG checkbox, title, and description
Mark the AOG checkbox for any defect that prevents the aircraft from being dispatched. AOG snags appear on the dedicated AOG priority view and trigger heightened visibility.
5 Submit

Click Create to log the snag in Open status. See Defer & Rectify for how to transition snags through investigation and resolution.

6 Review the Snag

The snag detail page shows the full defect narrative, AOG status, linked flight log and MEL item, a Corrective Actions section, and workflow buttons.

Corrective actions logged here feed into the QA Findings system if a formal audit finding is raised for this defect.
